We will be having a half-day next Friday, March 4th as it is the end of the second trimester. Report cards will be coming home, along with the most recent NWEA report for your student, in the month of March.
Our next Book Report is due on Friday, March 11th.
Students should focus on identifying evidence of character traits and giving a detailed summary of the book.
This is a reminder that your student needs to be charging their computer every night. We are having some students come to school with a dead or near-dead computer. Thank you!
We are having many students come to school without water bottles. The office only has so many water bottles and it is important that your student brings their own to school.
💙What We Learned This Week 💛
💙Language Arts: Students have worked hard this month to learn about significant influential black leaders in honor of Black History Month. They have been using their research skills to learn about each person's most important achievements. Next month, we will be learning about significant women of history as it is Women's History Month.
💛Writing: Students have continued working with their group for our next informational writing. They have determined the roles of each person in their group and will begin researching for their chapters next week. We will continue working on this group project throughout the next couple of weeks.
💙Math: We have continued working through Unit 5, which is about Fractions. Students are learning about placing fractions and whole numbers on number lines.
💛Science: We have continued working through our Science Unit - Invisible Forces. Students participated in the second experiment dealing with friction and the invisible forces that occur when going down a slide. Ask your student about how they made their slide go faster!
💙Social Studies: We are going to take a pause on Social Studies for the next couple of weeks as we transition to Science.
💙WORD STUDY💛
No word study next week so we can have extra time for our group writing project.
