Week of March 7 - 11

The month of March is off to a great start! Our P2 strategy this week was social intelligence. We learned that 7% of what we say is our words and 93% of what we say is our nonverbal communication (body language and tone of voice). This is something that is important to think about as we build friendships and practice peaceful resolutions.

Reading Month Continues!

💚 This is the month to show your student that reading is an adventure!
💚 See what places you can visit just by reading a book!
💚 Choose a special book to share for the next book report due March 25

Don't forget...
March 18th - Wear Clothing with Words
March 25th - Dress as a Book Character
March 31st - Pajama Day

💚What We Learned This Week 💚

💚Language Arts: Our students are really improving with reading for information all while continuing to learn about significant influential women in honor of Women's History Month. Look for the timelines on Google Classroom and the "about me" worksheets and bubble brainstorms will come home in the blue folders.

💚Writing: Most students are nearing completion of their informational writing research. Writing has started and soon we will begin work on a multi-media presentation that will be submitted to the Ren Baldwin Technology Festival.

💚Math: Our fractions unit has come to an end. We will take our fractions test on Tuesday. Working on fractions through IXL will help your child with these standards.

💚Science: Our science unit is complete and we will now pause for our next social studies unit.

💚Social Studies:  Our new unit is called "Econ and Me". We will be studying how we use goods and resources in the world around us. It is a very fun unit for our students!

💚WORD STUDY💚

No word study next week so we can have extra time for our group writing project.
